Privacy Policy

For CameraX

Last updated: August 30, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how the CameraX app (“CameraX”, “we”, “us”, “our”, or “developer”) manages data. CameraX is a personal project developed and maintained by Arindam Karmakar, a professional software developer based in Bengaluru, India.

This app is a personal project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any organization I work with professionally.

Data Collection

CameraX does not collect personal data. As declared on the Google Play Data safety section:

  • No data collected
  • No data shared with third parties

The app does not gather your name, email address, phone number, precise location, photos for upload, or any other personal identifiers. Photos and videos you capture stay on your device unless you choose to share them yourself through other apps.

Data Usage & Sharing

Because CameraX does not collect personal data, there is nothing to sell, rent, trade, or share with third parties for advertising or analytics.

Data Retention

CameraX does not operate its own servers for storing user content or personal information. Media you capture is stored locally on your device according to your device and OS settings.

Children’s Privacy

CameraX is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect or process any information from children.

If you believe a child has used CameraX in a way that raises a privacy concern, please contact us at the email address below.

User Choices & Controls

To function properly, CameraX requires only these permissions for its core functionality:

  • Camera
  • Microphone
  • Storage

You are always in control: permissions can be managed or revoked through your device settings. Please note that disabling certain permissions may limit app functionality.

Data Security

CameraX keeps your media on-device. We encourage you to keep your device updated and to use the security features provided by Android and your manufacturer.

CameraX may include links to external websites (for example, the open-source repository or documentation). These are offered for your convenience only. We do not govern their content or privacy practices, and encourage you to read their privacy policies before using those services.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or legal requirements. When significant changes are made, we will:

  • Update the “Last updated” date above, and/or
  • Where feasible, notify you directly in the app.
