This Privacy Policy explains how the Coco app (“Coco”, “we”, “us”, “our”, or “developer”) manages data. Coco is a personal project developed and maintained by Arindam Karmakar, a professional software developer based in Bengaluru, India.

This app is a personal project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any organization I work with professionally.

Data Collection

We collect only anonymous diagnostic data via trusted third-party services such as Firebase Crashlytics, solely to improve app stability and performance. This data is technical in nature (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, crash stack trace, timestamp), and contains no personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.

Firebase Crashlytics

Coco uses Firebase Crashlytics to gather crash reports and technical diagnostics. These help us quickly identify and resolve issues, improving reliability for everyone. Importantly, Crashlytics does not collect any personal data or sensitive identifiers.

• Data captured: device model, OS version, app version, stack traces, crash timestamp, and similar technical details.
• Purpose: identify and fix crashes, improve reliability.
• Data we don’t capture: information such as your name, email, or precise location.

Coco itself does not run its own analytics servers and does not sell your data.

Data Usage & Sharing

All diagnostic data is used solely to debug and improve Coco. These reports are processed securely by Firebase Crashlytics (Google). We never use your data to build marketing profiles, and we do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information—past legal obligations or court orders notwithstanding.

Data Retention

• Crash reports and related diagnostics are retained by Firebase according to Google’s retention policies.
• Coco itself does not keep separate copies of crash logs on its own servers.

International Transfers

Because Firebase operates globally, anonymous diagnostic data may be transferred and processed outside your country. Google applies industry-standard safeguards and compliance frameworks (such as GDPR and ISO certifications) to protect this data.

Children’s Privacy

Coco is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect or process any information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided any data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

User Choices & Controls

To function properly, Coco requires only these permissions for its core functionality:

• Internet

You are always in control: permissions can be managed or revoked through your device settings. Please note that disabling certain permissions may limit app functionality.

We use industry-standard measures and rely on Google’s platform security for Crashlytics. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

External Links

Coco may include links to external websites or SDK providers. These are offered for your convenience only. We do not govern their content or privacy practices, and encourage you to read their privacy policies before using those services.
